So you finally decided to get a housemaid.  The selection process is easy because all you need to do is check the Application Form made available for viewing.  However, did it cross your mind on what to do next and how to do it???

Now, let us give you a brief and simple step-by-step to do’s in order to complete you Housemaid acquisition.

The Role of Agencies

The first question asked in looking for a housemaid is “Am I going to get an agency for this?”.  If you go for a yes, there are couple of things that puts you in the advantage point.

• Wide array of housemaid selection – Applicants under an agency are screened and trained for the job.
• Guarantee – This is one of the most important thing to know when transacting to an agency.  Guarantee allows you to know and assess the housemaid’s performance.  Human as we are, we may find them unsatisfactory and may lead to replacement.  Without this guarantee, it will be a hassle since you have to go back to square one.  Replacement is done for issues like; refusal to work, repatriation or runaway.  Most agencies provide 3 months guarantee and some 4 months.
• Less Paper Work and Follow Up – Just so you know, you will be facing multiple paper work for the entire process.  Consider recruitment agencies as a place where you can find heroes.  Yes, they save you from all these paper work and also daily follow up as to housemaid status.

And if I don’t contact an Agency?

• Countries like Indonesia and Philippines are not deploying domestic helpers under housemaid visa openly.

• Too much workload to comply with legalities.  This is especially for housemaids entering on Visit Visa and subject to Change with a requirement to Exit.
• Proper screening/training is not guaranteed.
